Register your non-profit company with CIPC — for churches, charities, NGOs and community organisations.

Only R990

Non-profit company registration is the credible, modern way to formalise a church, charity, NGO or community organisation in South Africa. An NPC (Non-Profit Company) is registered with the CIPC under the Companies Act, 2008 — and we handle the entire process for you in just 3–5 working days.

What is an NPC?

A Non-Profit Company (NPC) is a company incorporated for a public benefit or an object relating to cultural, social or communal interests. Its name ends with the letters “NPC”. Crucially, its income and property are not distributable to its members or directors — everything must go towards its objectives.

What you get

  • Your NPC registered with the CIPC
  • Your company registration number and CoR 14.3 certificate
  • A Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) for a non-profit company
  • An automatically generated SARS income tax number
  • Guidance on NPO, PBO and Section 18A next steps

What you’ll need

  • At least three directors/incorporators (certified ID or passport for each)
  • Proof of residential address for each
  • Contact details (email and cell number)
  • A proposed company name (which will end in “NPC”)
  • A short description of your objectives

How long does it take?

NPC registration is usually completed within 3–5 working days once your documents are complete.

After registration: NPO, PBO and Section 18A

Once your NPC is registered, you can register as an NPO with the Department of Social Development, and apply to SARS for PBO tax exemption and Section 18A (which lets qualifying organisations issue tax-deductible donation certificates). These boost your credibility with funders and donors — we can guide you through each step.

Looking for a standard for-profit company instead? See our company registration service, or add SARS tax registration to get tax compliant.

Independent business support service — not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the CIPC, SARS or the Department of Social Development.
